Have You Ever Seen The Blues by Yaphet Kotto is a spoken-word single released in 1968 for Hugh Masakela’s Chisa  Records. Yaphet Frederick Kotto is an American actor known for numerous film roles. His films include  Alien (1979), The Running Man (1987) and the James Bond movie Live and Let Die (1973).

Yaphet Kotto was also a musician and Have You Ever Seen The Blues? is his most famous track. Proto-rap with an all percussive piano that bears some similarities to the spoken word works done by the Last Poets and Gil Scott-Heron.
