Rapped plea
This album is not well know. Maybe because the lyrics were too confrontional for the 1968 mainstream. One of the tracks Don't Pat Me On The Back And Call Me Brother, is a rapped plea for for real brotherhood instead of the fake variety.
So until we start being honest with each other, remember
Your daddy ain't my daddy and my mother ain't your mother
So don't be pattin' me on my back trying to put your in my pocket
Be callin' me a cotton-picker' brother, hear?
