Heh Heh (Chuckle) Good Morning Sunshine is a track by Melvin Van Peebles. It featured on the 1971 album and in the musical Ain't Supposed to Die a Natural Death that was released on A&M Records. The album features mostly spoken word poetry over music and all of the tracks are a precursor to rap music.

Heh Heh (Chuckle) Good Morning Sunshine

In 1970, Van Peebles decided to transform some of his albums he had recorded between 1968 and 1970 into a stage musical. The track Heh Heh (Chuckle) Good Morning Sunshine was used in musical of the same name. This musical is a series of 19 politically outspoken, darkly comic, and sexually charged musical monologues that explore the negative aspects of African-American street life and the ghetto experience.
Good mornin' sunshine
Take a good squint at me
I ain't the man I used to be
I ain't the cat you saw yesterday
At least I mean by tomorrow I won't be anyway
Whole new ball game, whole new day
First thing I'm going to do is send down a box load
A roses to have 'em put on Aunt Emma's grave
Next I'm gonna buy myself some shades
So if I'm out in the day
I won't have to look at you
Last time you and that Garment District Cadillac
Gonna trump on me
