Macy 'Skip' Skipper
Macy 'Skip' Skipper (1920-2001) was originally from St. Louis, MO, but was based in Memphis. Skipper did some demos in the mid 50's for Sun and released just a few singles. In 1956 he released Bop Pills and was rereleased in 2001. In 1957 he issued a single on Light, and Goofin' Off for Stax in 1961. Skipper was a great songwriter, but he never saw the succes his music deserved. Later on he lived in obscurity.
