You Ain't So Such A Much by Blanche Thomas
You Ain't So Such A Much is blues rap-shouter from New Orleans resident Blanche Thomas.
Thomas (1922 –  1977) was an American blues and jazz singer, based in New Orleans. She began her singing career at the Tick Tock club. This lead to her singing with Ray Charles at Club Basil, the Mardi Gras Lounge, and with the Six Brown Cats, working at clubs from Rampart through Bourbon Street.

Unusual track

Ain't So Such A Much was Thomas' first recording, for Imperial Records in 1954. It was written by Thomas (though credited to Dave Bartholomew) and featuring guitarist Ernest McLean and drummer Earl Palmer. It was an unusual track, because there were no brass or saxophones involved.
